Proposal to modify the way a guild can be deleted

DeletedUser653

Many guilds have been deleted by a moment of madness and this effects many players who have invested a lot of hard work and time, DragonStorm in EN10 or K being the latest guild to be deleted in a moment of madness.

Theres at least 2 other theads discussiing other ways to add some control on how a guild is disolved and i do not like those proposals as they are very complicated and difficult to code.

So i would like to propose the following

1) if one founder - they have the right to disband as they want
2) if 2 founders, then there must always be 2 founders in the guild at all times and both must delete the guild or it is not deleted
3) if 3 or more founders, a majority 'of the founders' must delete the guild

No Serious big guild will have just one founder, the jobs too big these days for one person, so suspect 2 and 3 above would be the most used solutions. These are simple ideas and easliy implemented by the dev team.

Re the problem of an inactive Founder:
If a founder is inactive FOE already has a process in place today to allocate the founder role to "TWO" voted players. a player in the guild must notifiy support and explain that founder has left for more than 60 days and that guild is holding a vote using the guild forum vote process. Once the vote ends they ask support to give founder rights to the top 2 players in the vote and of course support can see the vote so have proof that it was fair and that the guild took part in it before allocating the new founders. This has been in place for over 2 years now and we used this in the guild Bezerkers in beta to remove an absent founder and allocate myself and another player as new founders.

Mark

Edit: added "'of the founders' to line "3) if 3 or more founders, a majority must delete the guild" to help those that needed to understand that only founders can disolve a guild.

Agent - read the proposal again and then you will need to edit your post. founder will not be able to remove another founder if down to 2 founders

He has to be. With 2 founders and one going inactive he has to be able to remove that founder.

Besides that, as stated in the other thread, you do not need multiple founders. You can use leaders.

Anyone who is given the Founder rank can do anything and everything including deleting the guild or kicking other founders

Leaders cannot promote leaders though

Inactive founders = slowly dying guild

You can promote multiple leaders. A guild does not need an active founder. All it needs is a founder. With HRC's idea an inactive founder that wants to step down and replace himself by someone else can not do that.

Total rubbish, of course a guild needs an active founder :(

While short term Agent is right, long term not so, If you can't promote and demote leaders you can't change over inactives to keep the guild going

Every guild needs an active founder otherwise he should promote a leader to his position if he wishes to be inactive. Inactive members must be kicked out.

Sure you can. I am the founder on one of my diamondfarms. All I do is log in once a day. Can't really call that active, but it works just fine.

Smart thinking Promote someone and get kicked out.

Thats still active enough to make it work. Problem is if the founder goes completely awol for an extended period of time with no plans on whether or not they'll ever come back

@HRC Your statement on inactive founders is not accurate to this server. Please remember this is the Forum for the EN server not the Beta. Should you wish to know our procedure please contact support.

Thank you, yes, very smart thinking always. He's not a founder to the guild but dead weight to the guild if he is inactive, then he's obsolete, then he shouldn't be there, someone else must take his place.

Even inactive he remains the founder. If you do not like it you can leave the guild. As a member you have no say in a founder having to be active or not.

That's the worst reply any one could come up with :(
Games aren't meant to run with obsolete players.

Yeah right. That's why Inno deletes them right away.
