Thoughts about Carnival event

Like am I the only one that is sad and frustrated/angry about this event?
Like let me explain, so theres 100% win, 15% and 5%, and what i hate most is that 15%, like i've put 20 tickets on it ( 2 times/10 tickets) and didnt win once....like theres 150% to win and you dont... and same with 2nd try.....
The 5% i get thats yo uhave to be lucky because 10 tickets is only 50% to win, but the 15% is another level.....
And if you win you still have to battle that RNG in boxes....
I recently started playing and this is my 2nd event, but the Football one was much better, because you could obtain building upgrades much easier and got 3 (or 4) free upgrades, but with Carnival its much much much harder to get upgrades (ofc you get other buildings but that doesnt count) and you only get 2 free ones....
IMO its stupid with the % on wins for florins, and the Football (8-10 yards) win was better

The trouble is that it's doubly random - first a random chance of winning florins, then a random chance of getting anything useful with them (including the upgrades to make the award for computing the event actually worth having). So you have to be very lucky.

I am happy so far. I have spent about 2500 diamonds though, something I did not really plan on but at the end of the day, in real money terms, I would spend just as much on pinball down my local in a night. I will be really pissed if I don't get my last bridge upgrade. I am holding out till the last day then spend all my florins at once. Managed 3 SoK and 3 Watchfires as well as 6 useless canals.

I get your feeling. It is totally ridiculous that when you gamble, you do not win. I think they should open a forum post where you could give feedback on this subject.

what math are you using to say it's 150% win chance??? that's 300 out of 2000 chances and I only get .99% chance that you'll win once, not 150% (not sure I've got the right math either)

1-(75/100)^20

I've been lucky so I think it's been great. I wait until I get at least 5 tickets built up, double up using florins, then wait till the 5% hits like 1000 then bang away. I've won around 5k florins that way already. Then I use the first chest only. I wait until what I'm looking for comes around for 2k florins (which, for my city, is the Renaissance Apartment thing, enables me to dump LMA apartments for my Traz build).

I will only build the bridge as far as the Carnival Quest takes me, which I believe will be lv3. I won the little crazy mask thing which was fun. It's a bit small but pretty cool.

It is not a 150% chance. it is 15% every time, you could win in one, or it could take 50, regardless of the chance shown. Though it is unlikely that it will never spit out a win, and I suspect they do have a safeguard in place to spit out a win after a certain amount of time or something, chance is not culminative, your chances don't increase the more times you play, at no point are you owed a win. This is how they hook people on slots, it's called the Gambler's Fallacy, look it up.

Definitely the most disappointing event of all time. Unlikely i will do more events such as this one. Worse odds than a casino.

You have been lucky. I have had success in doubling the 15% to 30% box but I have never seen the 5% box over 500 florins. The one time I took it through 500 myself I was clicking away watching the 'try again' smirk at me. Then at around 700 someone else jumped in and took it in the middle of my go!! I was not a happy bunny!!! Didn't realise another player could do that, they must have been clicking like crazy to find a gap in my sequence.
