Word Wide Quests

*World Wide Quests

There will be a quest on each server (english, french, etc) OR world (a, b, c, d, etc) in which every player can participate in.

Example
"Mongols are raiding. Recruit 10,000 military units." A pool of 10k units must be filled. One player could fill it up, or all the players could provide a few units.

If the quest isn't completed in a given time period, EVERYONE loses a % or total of their supply/coins (mongol raid, razing). If the quests is completed, there's no penalty.

These quests can either be to prevent penalties (losing coins, supplies, military units etc) or provide rewards (coins, supplies, military units).

Another quest for example could be "Prevent Climate Change. 10,000 Supply or Goods buildings must be deleted." Again, it could be a few players just deleting buildings over again, or everyone could do a bit.

It's fun because it gets everyone involved and more people feeling like they're part of a community.

Whether people participate or not, the consequences (rewards or penalties) effects everyone.

It could be a monthly thing, that spans an entire month.

Another fun quest could be "Build a Moonbase i.e. Everyone must have a Cape Canaveral GB." If they succeed, everyone gets a free Expansion slot. Imagine the fun of everyone trying to help to get everyone that GB (you could just delete it later). You might not succeed, which is fine. These quests are supposed to be REALLY HARD.

+1 to the guild quests - providing they are balanced in difficulty.
As in, having to contribute 500 units isn't quite the same per-player impact in a level 50 75-member guild as it is in a level 3 10-player guild. Quest difficulty should be scaled, as should the rewards.

+1 from me for this :)

I agree with overtype here, guild quests would be good, therefore a -1 for the original idea and a +1 for the guild quests

Yep love the Guild Quest idea can't see the across worlds/servers working out very well - too complicated but fair play to you for thinking it up :)

This idea would be better suited as part of an event like the summer football/casino thing was (though those were hood based, not world/server based). Needs more examples before likely to get people to support.

Our current quests don't have a down side to failing to complete them, world wide quests shouldn't either. It would create a lot of animosity if it was all but one completed, the timer ran out and everyone in the world/sever suffered.
