Three best military units in High Middle Ages ?

Thomas Covenent

Lieutenant-General
Deal Castle's medal production is great in the early ages, but it will become insignificant in later ages. The bulk of medals income for high end players will come from GB donation rewards (especially with a high lvl Arc) and from daily quest rewards (when you have decent sized Chateau Frontenac).

Please note if you upgrade both your Basil and Deal to lvl 15 that you won't get a combined 90% defensive attack bonus. It will be more like 66%.
Agreed... after you buy those first couple victory expansions, you'll basically be relegated to Arc bonus + CF boosted quest rewards for actual medal income.
Especially Arc for obvious reasons!;)

Also Sailwind: don't ever discount the usefulness of the humble Drummer!

While the Colour Guard is mostly impotent by LMA, the Drummer will ALWAYS have value simply your the +1hp he provides.
With him around, it basically means that none of your units can ever one-shot killed.

I can one shot kill enemies with 11 health :P:blush:

hint: there is an Arctic Orangery in the game ;)

Just asking the people who say that Trebuchets are the best: I'm trying out a combination of crossbowmen and trebuchets, 4 each. However, I see that the trebs are extremely useless against most units, especially against the horses. Am I using them wrong, or is this just how they are? Should I build all the military buildings and use different units according to their opponents?

It really depends on your opponent.
I’d say: Heavy Infanterie, Nights or Champions & Berserker.
Via the tooltips you can gather information about the unit’s extra skills to know when to use which.

Tip: if you fight with 7 roques and one real unit make sure you keep the real unit behind otherwise your roques blow up in dust.
