My suggestion is Ulm Minster Church. This is the tallest church in the world, and the 4th tallest structure built before the 20th century

I see that many suggestions are duplications because the posts all had to be approved first. Mine was Eiffel tower and that seems to be the most popular! If you only take the first person to suggest it as a valid entry, does that mean that everyone else has wasted their vote? If so that doesn't seem very fair.
Anyway if we are allowed to vote again, can I suggest:

Bibliothèque Ste.-Genevieve
=======================
Bibliothèque Ste.-Genevieve in Paris, designed by Henri Labrouste and built in 1842-50.

First or Second Goetheanum (I prefer the second one's shape) for its humanistic, artistic and spiritual meaning combined!

I think the GB for Progressive Era is ST.Peter's Basilica , it is a cathedral of vatican city in Rome.
In the early 4th century Emperor Constantine, the first Christian emperor of Rome, decided to build a basilica on Vatican Hill at the site of small shrine that marked the likely location of the tomb of St. Peter. Construction of the basilica started between 319 and 322. It was consecrated in 326 AD and finally completed around 349 AD. To facilitate the construction, a part of the terrain was leveled and the necropolis where St. Peter was originally buried was demolished.

The basilica had an 85 meter (279 ft) long nave with four aisles and a spacious atrium with a central cantharus (fountain), enclosed by a colonnade. A bell tower stood at the front of the atrium. Visitors entered the atrium through a triple-arched portico.

I would like to suggest the "Melbourne International Exhibition" Building Circa 1880 as the great building. What a wonderful building. Thanks for the chance to help.

I would like to suggest The Flatiron Building (Originally known as The Fuller Building). Completed in 1902 it's unique triangular shape and its place in history as one of the very first skyscrapers makes it universally and instantly recognizable. Its location at 5th ave. and Broadway in the center of Manhattan only adds to its allure. Go Flatiron!
