In GE, how can different people solve the same amount of encounters but have different points?

DeletedUser109708

How exactly are GE contribution points calculated? I see in my Guild list a bunch of people who solved 48/48 encounters, but they contribute wildly different amounts of points. The difference between the low and high is approaching 300,000 contribution points, even though they all hit 48/48. How is this possible?

points are age dependend: higher aged player will get more points

and failing gives also points
the player with more lost fights or failed negotiation gets more points (compared to players from the same age)

Hence, why some players in guilds will get to the final encounter and repeatedly surrender after defeating the first wave again and again to pile the GE points on for the guild. If it's not a close contest with the other guilds then why not pile on the points and just complete the final encounter before the contest ends for the week?

Unless your guild is already level capped, getting more guild power is why you would do that.

As a final note, Combat Conquest for an encounter will yield different points than Negotiation for the encounter, even if same age.

are you sure about this? in 1 world i tend to negotiate quite a lot & a fellow guildmate fights all the encounters, we are the same age & end up with the same points

The points awarded for success are the same, be it by combat or negotiation. Those that negotiate, however, tend to end up with more points by the end of the week due to a number of failed negotiations; for which a token amount of points are still awarded. Those that use combat tend to be more successful at encounter completion using less attempts; thereby generating marginally fewer points but the greater potential for guild success in the event guilds tying on the same score.

From the Original Announcement:
' . . . The Negotiation Game is balanced in the way that you get roughly the same amount of Expedition Points for fighting and for negotiating, but this can of course differ slightly depending on how many turns you need to figure out the right combination. . . .'
