Friend issue

I responded to a friends email invite and the only way I can play with them is thru the email link. When I log on normally, they are not my friend and the world is different.

Make sure you are using the right server. The main servers that you could be in are EN, US, or ZZ. (Click on each one to see the different servers). I think you should be able to tell the one that's yours when you check out the world(s) you have played on.

Hello Ma Von Crazy - byeordie is correct, you should first check and make sure you are logging on to the right server. Many countries have their own server and occasionally our system can auto detect where you are from and accidentally default you to the wrong server. You don't say the name of the world you are playing on, but in addition to ensuring you are on the correct server, you also need to be playing on the same world as your friend in order to be able to see them in your friends bar.

If the above does not resolve your issue, please submit a ticket to support by right-clicking anywhere in your city and choosing 'contact support'. We will be better able to assist you from there.
