Proposal:
Have 2 or 3 sectors that are placed behind a guild base that are accessible to only that guild for battles. These are cleared once per day at reset allowing them to be taken by that guild the next day.
Have you checked the forums for the same or similar idea
Yes and I can't see anything similar
Reason:
Many smaller guilds are prevented from doing any battles in the GBG arena currently because of large guilds co-operating to take and swap sectors throughout the campaign. As a consequence, many guilds just give up trying to do anything in GBG.
Details:
Each guild in GBG has 2 or 3 sectors that sit behind their base that they can attack and battle in each day. At server reset, these sectors are released so the guild can battle those and take them again the following day. This doesn't exclude battling towards the centre - guilds can still do that.
Visual Aids:
None currently
Balance/Abuse Prevention:
As far as I can see/know, it wouldn't change any other aspect of the game.
It would require some graphical changes to the GBG map and development in terms of having them locked against other guilds and cleared each day.
By having these protected guild-only sectors, it allows the guild to at least do some battles every day to gain prizes and battle experience. It would encourage smaller guilds to participate in GBG more. It also encourages smaller players to develop attacking strength which benefits the guild. Initially I could see small guilds just taking their allocated sectors, but this develops a GBG mindset of battling each day, developing your attack strength and being able to get prizes and experience out of it. WIth more attack strength and experience, guilds are much more likely to push in to the centre and compete for sectors.
This idea actually addresses one of the problem with GBG, whereby large guilds can collaborate for top places, take sectors and swap sectors between them, thus preventing smaller guilds having the opportunity to do any battles at all.
Guilds would have to manage themselves in terms of who should be attacking these locked sectors. For example, guilds should be giving lower rated players the opportunity to take them and gain experience and prizes, and more developed players can attack centre sectors as normal.
Possible considerations -
It could be that -
1. these special sectors operate the same as other sectors in the game in terms of points and prizes
or
2. They don't count towards the guilds points tally, or prizes are reduced in those sectors.
