if you watch or play elvenar you will see how well they have slowed down the current tech, I can gaurentee part 3 even with a bunch of promothium on hand will get land locked somehow by something new

you just wait... at some stage early in part 3 one of your quest givers shows up and reports that Prom has been found to be unstable... and clever Mandrubar finds a way to stabilize it with Absurdium... which is far more tedious to mine than Prom...
