Why Can't we delete Our Own Threads?

that's what i thought you meant. Boot's reply refers to in game messages.
If you started a thread in error on the forums, ask a forum mod to remove or close it for you (via 'report' on the thread, or send them a pm)

Generally you cannot delete a thread with multiple posts on it just because you change you mind as you are deleting many other players posts and you do not have the right to do this.
but if the thread is no longer useful then as jampots suggests you can as a forum mod to remove it.
