I would like to know who my trader is who deals with my blue prints? Because i want to sack him!!

Who on this world would trade 2 blue prints for a blue print you already have?

sarcasm aside it is pretty dumb and really should be change.

At least it was better than not trading (for the first few weeks of the introduction to GBs) :p

Those who want to try their luck and get the one they need.
It's better then nothing, what would you suggest?

DeletedUser96716

Just give you a random one you need, as you are ment to be trading after all.

Its the odds which suck as they are 9:1 and every time you trade its at 9:1 which sucks. The odds
are too great and need reducing.

When you need the last one or two its horrid and forces players to diamonds or to weeks and months of wasted swops at odds of 9:1

can we reduce the odds for a player searching for the last 2 BP's

Technically if you trade two of the same blueprint, the odds of getting a specific one are 1 in 8, as you cannot get the same blueprint back that you traded.

If you trade two different ones, it's a 1 in 7 chance to get one of the remaining blueprints.

If you want to know the probabilities of getting a unique BP then look at this thread: Percentage Chance of Finding a Unique Blueprint.

As to why they don't do it so that you always get a unique BP when you trade it in - if you always got a unique BP on trading then at most you would need to get 17 BPs (1 initial BP and 8 pairs of duplicates to trade) but more realistically you would need 13 BPs (5, or so, unique BPs and 4 pairs of duplicates to trade). If you compare this to the current system where, to complete a GB, you need an average of about 24 BPs (if my rough calculation is correct) then you are making the game significantly easier.

They are called GREAT Buildings for a reason.

Plus if you made it so you always got unique BPs then there would be much less reason to buy BPs using diamonds and FoE would lose a revenue stream - it is after all the people who pay diamonds that fund the game for the non-diamond players.

No need to hide it, it is obviously about buying diamonds to get those last BPs, unless you are patient enough and wait it out, for a few weeks/months to get that last BP.

This just happened to me ..trading 2 BPs to get another copy of one I already have and in 2014...
I still beleive its unfair and I buy diamonds when the paypal works (currently not working)
So I feel we should be given a break!

It's like playing in a casino....the house always wins and occasionally the player wins. Place your bets folks!

Just be patient, motivate and polish everybody and keep trading... it takes time but eventually the last bp arrives.

i think the best plan is get 6-7 different blueprints which is pretty easy then buy the remaining 2 - 3 if your in a real rush and you can afford to buy the diamonds needed

If not its pure luck. My first GB was Zeus long before we could trade BP's and i collected 11 to get the 9 i needed but i've also waited weeks for the last 1 and ended up buying it only to get that one the very next day

The odds are actually much worse if you get most of your BPs via pol-mot. It took a *very* long time to get the set for my Lighthouse because I kept finding BPs for the blasted Colosseum -- 46 total (30 for the wrong building). The final piece finally arrived when I traded in yet another pair of duplicates (earned by contributing to a fellow guild members Lighthouse).

First thing to remember is that Great Buildings are NOT supposed to be easy to get. If they were, there would be an option to buy them with coins or supplies.

The second thing to remember is that the only this game exists and is free to play is that it is a revenue generator for a business. The fact that people feel the need to buy diamonds in order to get the BP's they want is not an argument likely to effect change in a system which needs players to buy diamonds in order to be financially feasible.

You can get more than enough diamonds through regular game play to buy the occasional BP. Granted, there are other things you might want to buy with diamonds, so you'll go buy more. Shouldn't be a problem for people who spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on gaming consoles and games that don't amuse them half as much as Forge of Empires does!

The game isn't designed to be "won" or completed overnight. You need patience...in my case I've been able to complete BP sets for every Great Building available (except the 2 PME ones which I'm still working on) without buying a single BP.

Please give this guy a cookie or something cause he deserves it ^

In my experience with the trader, I tried it once and got just the BP I wanted :D

Rub salt in the wounds, why don't ya! Sheesh. Even at 5/9 or 6/9 I usually get a duplicate. One "terrible horrible no-good very bad day" I got 4 duplicates in a row on trade-ins! Count yourself thrice blessed! lol
