Sector Reward Continent Map

Sometimes the reward for winning a sector on the continent map is what looks like a purple diamond.
Does anyone know what it is?
I never seem to get anything when I win a sector with these on.

If there is a numerator with it you have that many diamonds in your bin. It's only the best reward you can get on the map!

it says 10 but when I got the sector I didn't get any diamonds.
I have had a few of these and they don't give diamonds
