New empire locked

Infamous Yoda

I have set up a new empire (Yoda the elder), had completed research of spears, fought one section on map, and tried to change world to Parkog. After restarting, the game is stuck with the General saying open Map, but there is a lock over the map, saying research spears. Cant do anything including go to my main empire. Any recommendations?
