More space for buildings

Hello,
I think we need more space for buildings. Space is not enough now. What you think about it ?

I tell you what I'd like to see....all those provinces turning into small villages that you can produce something in. Extremely limited space for them, less than what you start the game with and cannot be expanded, cannot build GBs there, nor event buildings or anything but normal buildings, enough houses for enough population to operate something, be it supplies or goods or even military units.

The point it`s not to satisfy everyone. Too much buildings and only 2 squares in 1 age. It`s not enough to grow up. And that not including event buildings. I think game must give us chance to get more space.

As our cities grow the speed of the game slows down. I have an inventory packed with buildings I can't use (Gate of the Sun God anyone?), but I'm guessing if I had enough space to build them all, my browser wouldn't cope, and the game would become unplayable.

The only solution would be to move away from Flash as a development platform, but that is very unlikely to happen.

This is one of those pesky "game balance" things.

Everybody "needs" more space. Fitting all the buildings you need into the space you have is one of the main challenges of the game. You'll also note that the buildings are designed so that they are hard to place without wasting squares on roads. It's supposed to be difficult. If it wasn't, the game would be too easy. People would get bored, and quit in droves.

Of course, they could decrease the efficiency of buildings, or increase the production requirements. That would allow them to give us more space, while retaining the difficulty level. It might even increase the difficulty. However, I doubt that this would satisfy those who think we have too little space as it is.

I think with the summer casino event, and the extra space those rewards require, it would be nice if expansions were also offered as a reward on the wheel of fortune.

I don`t think that the game will be boring, if we have space to build more buildings. It`s not reason to get more and more buildings, if I can`t use them. And I said again - it`s not enough to get 2 squares per age and the same time 20 and more new buildings. I think we must have option to get more squares - 2 per age is not enough.

It's supposed to be a challenge to find space for all the buildings you need, even to the extent where it's actually impossible, and you have to prioritize between needs. Without this, I definitely would find the game less interesting. The limitation on space is the type of balancing issue that will be based on analysis of game play statistics. The game may not become to easy for you, but it will become too easy for too many.

As I wrote, there are ways of maintaining the balance. If you find a really good way, you can relaunch your suggestion. Suggestion that make the game easier will tend to be ignored, unless they're combined with suggestions on how to restore the balance. Simply arguing that "the game will still be difficult enough, anyway" will get you nowhere. Inno has put a lot of work into getting the game precisely this difficult, and aren't about to change it on a whim.
