Indicate if sector was negotiated or fought

In some instances one is required to negotiate or to fight a sector to satisfy a quest;, if one is not finishing such province at once; one might not recall a week later which way such sector was taken.
There are also quest requests to take a province either by negotiation or by fight; if markings were available, it would help to make sure one is continuing what one started earlier.

As far as I can remember there are no quests that tell you to either negotiate or fight an entire province. Only sectors and previous sectors do not count for those quests.

If you wish to follow instructions on how to obtain higher level troops, starting from CA, there are provinces you are suppose to take either by fighting or negotiating.

Then what's stopping you from making notes?

The quests do not ask you to do it in a specific way. Obtaining higher level troops is a hidden function. You can not expect Inno to help you with that. It is all up to you.
