When creating a guild, you have different invitation options you can choose to allow players to join your guild:

"Via Invitation Only": Players can only join your guild if they are sent an invitation.
"Via Autojoin": Any player can simply join your guild. No restrictions apply!
"Via Application": A player must "apply" to your guild, then they must be accepted. You can also invite players to your guild as well.
