Some people have more than 1 recurring quest. They have 2. Yes I also hear that some others (still others) even have 3 recurring quests. But here let's not jump too fast. Let's stick to the basics of "2 at the same time".
So, how can I get two recurring quests? Or, can I, right now, in High Middle Ages? I mean, can you or can anyone? Because the narrow sense (the literal) I obviously can't, because for me, right now, the other quest line (the story line) asks me to "reseach a technology" and if I do that, I'd no longer be in HMA; I'd advance into a new age, LMA, thereby not gaining another looping quest but losing the existing one (temporarily). I may get 1 or 2 or 3 RQs back but they'd be different ones and I don't really care about those, because, the question is specific, "Can I, in HMA, how?"
Meanwhile, I'm a new player, who has only reach HMA in the main world and does not know anything later than that tech-wise. Things beyond HMA in the tech tree belongs to the "unknown realm" to me. So, note that if it is absolutely necessary to involve those things in order to answer this question, do not expect me to understand it; try make me believe it. I do have searched for this question. Some say that the multiple recurring quests are only possible after the Colonial Age. Well I've only reached HMA. How am I supposed to be certain of that (like, about things in the future)? But I've got an idea: if (any and) all who reply to this thread positively confirm (in a unanimous manner) that "it is only possible after Colonial Age" then I'll believe it!
