GvG questions

Here is a GvG question..

Why do the top 3 places on GvG age maps get a percentage bonus of sector points aquired?

If the game makers want players from smaller guilds take part in GvG, why do they make it that larger guilds who get into top 3 gain extra points therefore levelling up faster, gaining more defense pool points to protect their sectors.

By the time smaller guilds get the goods and troops together to fight for a sector, the larger guilds will have more defence pool points to protect them.

Also players in smaller guild may not have their GBs up to full boost due to the fact there will be less people in their guilds donating.

A few of the larger, more advanced guild players will have completed tech tree, and have full GBs..so they are feeding their fps into other guild members GBs to get the boosts for defence pool up there too.

This is not to have a go at larger guilds (as they can do what they like with their cities and fps).. just querying the mindset of those who developed GvG.

Is this designed to 'level the playing field' or just to keep those that have got through the rest of the game busy while you develop the next era?

My original question about why the top 3 get % bonus to daily points in GvG?.. making them even more difficult to beat by smaller guilds as it pushes them up the levels quicker gain more defence pool points.

That's to make competition, or else the standings will have no use at all ;)

Thanks for your answers. I already knew all about the way the support pool is calculated and how it's allocated to the different sectors, though. I just wanted to know if the bonus in 1 map gets affected by the number of maps a guild is participating in, like byeordie answered here:

Every age is counted separately, so these numbers will not change no matter how many ages our guild participates in (only on the support factor, guild level's support bonus, and the total amount of GB levels in the guild)

Byeordie, thanks for this answer :-) It's too hard to calculate it here, because my guild has too many members with too many GB's and too many sectors on different maps, but I checked it on the beta server (as our only support pool there, comes from our guild level, as none of our guild members has a defence GB) and you are right. :-)

The standings count towards guild level advance anyway.. giving the % boost to top 3 guilds on each age map only helps them advance faster..gaining more defence pool and making it harder for smaller guilds to take sectors from them.

The larger guilds that dominate the age maps get help through the levels while the game makers encourage smaller guilds to take part and gain levels at a slower pace...if they gain sectors anyway..

the end result of this will be around 5 or 6 guilds fighting over the maps and the other smaller guilds getting little or no advancement at all with no benefits such as coin/supps discount or additional fps..

If anyone says that won't happen..then they are only looking short term ..or not looking at all....

especiallly when the larger guilds have already snapped up the landing points and placed a good defence to prevent smaller guilds getting on the map.

this is not a dig at the larger guilds... they deserve their positions.. this is a dig at giving extra help to control more areas with faster advancement though the levels
