Expansion lost

I researched manuring and paid for it. I then went and built the expansion spot, but did nothing with it because I didn't have the time right then. When I got back on this afternoon, the expansion spot was gone! I should have five expansion places; four from researches and one from victory, yet my city only shows four! I am not able to repurchase it either! It's like I never got the expansion...

I was not sure, but I think one of mine vanished too, I just was not sure enough about it to post... but I remember early on in the game buying an expansion slot then researching one and only having 1 to place... I thought maybe I had not bought it, but there may be a bug here with them accumulating...
