Change how units are associated with military buildings

DeletedUser13521

It would be very nice if your units were not tied directly to a military building with no way to move them between barracks, or possibly just create a maximum unit pool based on X number of Y military building. I have a tendency to end up with 3-4 units all dying from one building while the others are full of healing units. After the early middle ages this is now 16 hours of rebuilding time when it seems like you should be able to at least rebuild those units at one time over 4 hours if you have 4 catapult camps for instance.

Another possibility would be to implement a way to determine which building troops are associated with. At least you could strategize and not send all 4 units from a single barracks into battle at any given time.

Thanks!

I'll repost my response to the last time this was suggested (although it didn't have it's own idea thread then):

I thought in another thing to cover this problem.

The units don't belong to a building. So if you have 2 buildings of the same unit, both buildings can create units until a max of 8. That's easy, I think

Feel free to propose it in a separate idea as it's not the same as this idea. However, my opinion of it is that's actually worse than the current system - if you have two field gun camps (allowing 8FG) and you also have two free FG from quests then you cannot build any more FG under your suggestion until you have lost 3 FG (so effectively the first units to die are always going to be the quest freebies whereas the current system is at least random).

As to your "another possibility" it is already in the Great Ideas section (see here).

Hi ragnarock,

Can you please edit your post and present your idea in the proper >>idea template<<? The template helps you structure your idea and makes it easier for others to discuss (aspects of) it.

Another possibility would be to implement a way to determine which building troops are associated with. At least you could strategize and not send all 4 units from a single barracks into battle at any given time.
This idea has indeed been previously suggested and moved to the Great Ideas section, so please leave it out of your own proposal.
