Attacking -Defending Army

I play with the iOS device ( IPad). I have a couple of question that I can not find the answer to.

1. I would like to know, if you select a unit to be a “defending” unit and then place this unit in the “attacking” slot, does it still remain a part of the defending army when your city is attacked ?

2. On one tutorial, it says to look for a yellow/gold out line around a unit in “next turn bar”. I have tried different key combinations but can’t seem to get anything highlighted. I hope I am not colour blind (lol) and it has something to do with the game.

2: i think your talking about unattached units you eather get these with Alcatraz or with GE if you used em all eaven if your device is set properly to identefy those units if you have none you won't see any yelow gold oulined on any of your troops
