Add an item trading mechanism.

Hi all,

I have been thinking that why doesn't this game have an item trading market? You probably have stuff in your inventory that you don't want, but some other person may really want that stuff, and vice versa. Why not add a mechanism which would let you do trades as such? Maybe put some restrictions like the following:
Players can only trade with other players in their age/era.
Players can't trade with other players playing on the same internet connection.
I understand that this will be too complicated if it is implemented in a market form, but it can probably be implemented in way that a player trades with another player 1 against 1 (like trading in the video game Rocket League). Players can communicate at what time both of them are online to trade.
Please share your thoughts on whether you like this idea or not and explain your views if possible.

it is on the "do not suggest"-list
In particular, please do not suggest the following ideas, as they will not be implemented:
Trading of items other than Goods (this is simply too open to abuse, and is potentially a breach of our game rules).

Too bad. I don't see anything wrong with it though. Can anyone explain please?
It would make everything far too easy, everyone would have fully upgraded special buildings etc
Very easy to abuse.

Need a new Terrace Farm or 5? I'll swap for a Tholos of Idols upgrade :D

So? What's the problem if both players are okay with it? There are goods for forge points swaps going on, isn't that an abuse? A person in Iron Age has an Arc? That is alright but a few terrace farms for an item upgrade is an abuse? This isn't a good enough reason to not implement this mechanism.

It doesn't matter if you think it is a good enough reason or not. You can argue it till you see blue in the face and you stull will be nowhere. Inno does not want it. Discussion closed.

Goods for FP is an abuse of sorts but is a loophole within the current confines of the game rules, same goes for lower age players with GBs way above their age. It would be impossible to stop goods/fp swaps and to stop the GB issue would involve a major game change and then what would happen to all the current players with higher age GBs?

Having an inventory trade mechanism would completely devalue the events and stop people trying to get that last upgrade. Inno have been pushing more and more events recently (to the point where it's getting ridiculous) in an effort to get people to buy/spend diamonds. Why would they kill the cash cow??

That cash cow point is a very valid one. I was just seeing this topic with a player's perspective, forgot about the developer's (monetary gain) perspective. Also didn't see that this idea was in the do not suggest list. This thread should be considered closed now.
