About the battles

Hello. I am new player, I started the game probably 3 weeks ago, and I find it interesting enough to keep my interest, so I think I'll play long time.
I have a question about the formula of the battles. I understood that the damage depends from the attack + "health", compared with the defence, with some random factor. But, is it possible to see a chart how exactly it depends, or an exact formula how it is being calculated?
