Hello Kings and Queens of FoE

The update will take place on February 6th 2013. Please be aware that there will be a short period of downtime during the update, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by this.


Features/Improvements:
-Duplicate blueprints are now displayed more clearly in the reward screen.
-If a player is dismissed from a guild, this is now recorded in the player's event overview screen.
-The autocollect feature now also works for plundered buildings.
-The "2:1 Blueprintgtrade feature now displays the selected Blueprints for a trade more clearly.
-To avoid spam, the maximum amount of replies to a message has been capped at 100.
-Double clicking on units in the army management will now only select a maximum of 8 units, as only 8 units can be used in battle.
-The "clear message" button no longer also deletes recipients.
-Clicking on the top right event icons will now move the screen to the nearest affected structure to which this event applies.
-Points gained for killing battle units have been rebalanced.
-Bonuses for Great Buildings have been rebalanced (the bonus remains the same, but the value has been changed).

Quest:
[Build all Goods Buildings] - The quest takes has been simplified.
[Mandrubar's Surprise] - The quest no longer requires players to complete the "Multistory Houses" technology.
Some mistakes in quest texts have been corrected.

Bugs:
-Crashes related to disconnecting buildings have been minimized.
-Premium flag buyers are no longer hassled with unnecessary purchase pop-ups in the guild administration window.
-Purchasing missing Goods for great Buildings no longer requires a page refresh to take affect.
-The Double Production Premium feature now displays the correct cost of 20 diamonds.
-An exploit which allowed players to receive multiple special event buildings was fixed.
-The Social bar now stays anchored after a visit/attack, and no longer snaps back to the rank #1 player.
-Some players could not continue unfinished battles. This issue has been solved.
-The "Important" setting in the guild forum now works as intended once more.
-Great buildings you donated to now display your rewards correctly.
-A scroll-bar no longer appears on the right side of the screen when you play Forge of Empires with Chrome.
-A Guild Forum window display bug has been fixed.
-Accepting a guild invitation no longer causes a scroll-over display bug.
-A courser bug involving motivating and then returning to a battle was resolved.
-Accepted goods in the event overview are now displayed in the correct order.
-Using the All Guild Members message option when there are no other members in the guild was displaying and invalid name prompt. This problem has now been fixed.
-Long usernames with 24 characters could overlap the city name's bar when using the mouse over function. This has now been corrected.
-In the forum, there was an error when closing poll, which has now been fixed.
-In the description for the Cathedral of Aachen there was excessive space between 'The' and 'Cathedral'. This has now been corrected.
-Some text and grammatical errors have been corrected.
-The scroll wheel on the mouse did not affect scroll bars within the game.
-When creating a guild, points of the guild creator were not being applied.

The great buildings better be nerfed to hell for attack and def bonus. I'm so sick of having to fight impossible enemy cities, and having them attack me without losing anything because the AI controlling my units is useless, particularly against buffed up units.

If you know you're going to lose a fight before you even attack, why go through with it? And nobody is making you attack anyone else...

Good. GBs are completely overpowered right now. I have an almost full colonial age city and I rank lower than people who still have a bunch of low level buildings all over the place. But I don't mind about rank as much as I do about the overpowered troop buffs.

what are you talking about
we will have more marge neighborhood because of the 10% increse (2 neighborhoods will marge if they drop under 50 players ,way better then before 40)
so more active players to attack= more points


-Points gained for killing battle units have been rebalanced. - i dont know if this is a bad thing or a good thing

yes I'm wrong with the Chatedral of Aachen, its ~ -15% Coins each day.
Example: 4540 coins with level 4
after this update: 3820 coins each day with level 4

But u will get only 94 Medals for the Deal Castle with level 10, before you get 196 Medals.

lol, you think that's bad, the re-balance in battle points is waayyyyy worse

Btw, I think the medals is quite fair: max # of medals earned from PvP: 550
medals earned in a week from Deal Castle (at level 10) in v0.26: 658

Damn if deal castle one is true then it screws me over a bit personally(although I like that nerf). Built Deal Castle as my last GB just very reciently and didn't put any work into leveling it yet. Used to have dominant lead in my world medal charts when GBs came out but I'm now out of top5 and 8k medals below new leader. This makes this gap much more difficult to make up now as I basicially just "missed out" from having a vastly overpowered building in my town for 2 months that no longer excists as it was :P

But nah don't really care too much about medals, happens.

Anyways what are the other changes? Saying "-Bonuses for Great Buildings have been rebalanced (the bonus remains the same, but the value has been changed). "is kinda like posting a changelog thread and saying nothing more than "There will be some changes, improvements and bug fixes this week, but most stuff stays the same".

This is the best part of this update for me. A really big timesaver, thanks very much! :cool:

I feel the same way Grey. I thought it was once implemented on Cirgard, but I could be mistaken.

Rebalancing of units and great buildings

In this update, there are some changes to great building bonuses and battle unit points which are intended to make the game more balanced as a whole. This may mean that you will notice a decrease/increase in points gained for killing certain types of units, or the bonus for a great building will change. However, we believe these changes (detailed below) will make gameplay fairer across the ages.

Unit points balancing
When you kill units in battle, the number of battle points gained depends on the type of units you have killed. The number of points gained for most of these units has been adjusted. The difference is slight for most units, with the most significant changes in Colonial age units Musketeer and Fields guns (point increase) and a reduction in points for killing Berserkers from the High Middle Ages.

New values are listed in the spoiler below (for killing the unit from full health at 100% happiness):

Great building bonuses
Some of the Great Buildings bonuses received at various levels have also been adjusted, mostly with the changes occurring between the levels of the building. The most significant changes are detailed below:

Dresden Frauenkirche: The maximum possible happiness has been reduced, and the goods maximum has increased.
Tower of Babel: Goods maximum has been decreased.
Cathedral of St. Basil: Maximum money possible has been decreased.
Lighthouse of Alexandria: Maximum goods possible has been decreased.
Colosseum: Maximum medals has been increased.
Deal castle: Maximum medals have been decreased.

Ask and you shall receive :) The point change on troops will be retro active not the great buildings though. We have been finding ways to try and balance the system and this is what was come up with. So everyone will notice some point changes when this update comes into effect.
