What is the purpose of having different worlds?

Apologies if this has been asked before, but what is the purpose behind having different worlds? I've only played in one so far and I just wondered what the difference is between the worlds and if there isn't any difference, why is there more than one?

Thanks

They're all the same. There's more than one to accommodate more players (and because some players enjoy playing and spending money on more than one world).

Hi TheUltimateWarrior2014, welcome to the forums :)

As mink pointed out there are multiple worlds to accomodate large numbers of players without overloading they system. There are also multiple worlds for those that wish to start again and experience the game with all the changes from the beginning (some updates change a lot in the early ages that you can miss out on otherwise). There are also some worlds that have been started later than others and thus you would not be as far behind the top players on Jaims for example compared to the top players on Arvahall.

its also a way to cheat, gives mod extra work to catch you

While it is possible to abuse the multiple worlds it's not part of why they exist.

"It is forbidden to create trades in any form (goods, Forge Points etc) that involve multiple worlds."
"If you believe someone is breaking the rules, you can contact the support team by right clicking on the in-game screen of your city and selecting support."

So if you are aware of any crossworld trades it's best that you help out the mod team to help prevent this pushing behaviour for a fairer game environment. :)

There are probably some minor technical issues which make maintaining more smaller worlds easier, but mostly it's a business format thing. This game is on almost like 30 servers with 100+ worlds totaling. Since the business formula is pay to win, if you have 100+ worlds, there can be 100+ winners, so a lot more people are willing to pay. As compared to let's say how much would #1 player in X-world who has lets say spent 5k dollars in this game, how much would have he spent if he were competing to be #235 or #236 in combined all servers rank. Probably less, so hence the format. Also it allows them to be spread out on different language regions better and also restart the game(which is based on advancement) every once in a while by opening a new world. All and all, it makes sense for this game to be spread out both as a business and as a product. I do think this game has taken it over the top tho, current worlds in different servers feel way too small and very much lack competitiveness.
