What is Guild support.

I would really like to know what is and what it does:
- - % increase of attack and defense when attacking
- - % increase of counterattack and defense when defending
- - % increase of attack when attacking
- - % increase of defense when attacking
- - % increase of counterattack when defending
- - % increase of defense when defending
- - unit stat pts increase of attack and defense when attacking
- - unit stat pts increase of counterattack and defense when defending
- - unit stat pts increase of attack when attacking
- - unit stat pts increase of defense when attacking
- - unit stat pts increase of counterattack when defending
- - unit stat pts increase of defense when defending
- - Lower cost of buildings/units/???
- - Shorter time needed for building/recruiting/???
- - Whatever else it might be. Please try to be clear.
As well as when it applies:
- - In GvG
- - In storyline play
- - In raiding
- - In defending against raids
- - During Events

All I have been able to find is vague generalities 'it supports guild members', it should be possible to be more precise than that.

love Villow

The Guild support pool only applies for GvG as per the following:
Support pool

Every guild has a "support pool", which gives bonuses in GvG warfare. A guild's support pool is calculated from the guild's level and certain buildings that its members have. It gives a percentage bonus to the attack and defense of all units of that guild in this sector.

Your total pool applies to each individual province. Then for each province, they are divided by the Support Factor before they are distributed.

The support pool is distributed among sectors controlled by a guild, with the guild HQ taking precedence, before adjacent sectors receive a bonus, and then sectors further away after that. If a sector is not connected to your HQ, it will not get a bonus.

You can see a support bonus by hovering your mouse over an army. Defending armies and siege armies can have a support bonus if they are in range. A guild's support pool is recalculated every day, when the countdown ends. A siege army will only receive a support bonus if it exists at the time of the daily calculation, when the countdown ends.

The maximum support bonuses vary according to province - this is in order to make the lower age maps more accessible to players from earlier ages. The maximum bonus for each age is set according to the following table:

MapMax outpost bonusMax HQ bonus
Iron Age0%25%
EMA10%35%
HMA20%45%
LMA30%55%
Colonial40%65%
IndA and after50%75%

The following definitions may help as well:
Support Bonus - All defending armies in a guild’s sector or a siege army can get a buff. That buff is called “support bonus”. It is calculated from the support pool, the support factor and the distance to the headquarter.

Support Factor - A unique factor for every province; support pool / support factor = total support bonus of that province

Support Pool - All guild members contribute with certain buildings to the guild’s support pool. The support pool and the support factor of a province define the total support bonus for the guild in that province.

Support Pool Bonus - According to the level of the guild, the guild’s support pool is increased.

Just in case the above doesn't make it clear I'll also answer using your post:
It only applies for - - In GvG
It is and does - - % increase of attack and defense when defending (The units defending your sector get the % boost not the units you use to attack sieges on your sectors).

Please let me know if anything there confuses you as it's not the easiest part of GvG to understand (many get confused).

Tank - one question - do your sectors have to be adjoining for support pool to apply?

Say you have 4 sectors in a line with the HQ at one end. You have enough support pool for sectors 2 and 3 to have support but sector 4 doesnt
Another guild takes sector 2. Does this mean the support pool would then extend to sector 4 or would the intervening guild stop the application of support to the other sectors?

DeletedUser107476

yes they need to be connected to your hq by other sectors owned by you.
If they took sector 2 then 3 and 4 would not have any support.

Hmm. . .
Re-read the original post. Villow is mixing elements of both GvG and PvP properties.
Allow me to take an additional stab:

% increases when attacking. These are for you when you attack. GvG and PvP. (ie: Zeus/Aachen/Monte/Speakers' Corner/some specific military barracks). Or, as you say - Raiding
% increases when defending. These are for you when you are being attacked in PvP. (ie: Basil/Deal/Observatory/Monastery/Tigers' Den/Watchfires). Or, as you say - Defending against raids.
Guild support is for the units in GvG that are defending the sector under siege. (ie: Basils/Deal/Observatories in your entire guild + Defensive Support bonuses given at each level.). Each age has a different % Defensive Support allowed and different #'s of connected hexes affected.
In GvG you get your individual % increases attack and defense when attacking in your personal battles. The defenders get their Guild Support %.
The besieging army has no defense bonuses from those trying to break the siege, although the breakers get their bonuses while attacking.
Some units have individual attack/defense goodies (ie: Knights in battle/Champions in death/Drummers just being a pain in the butt). These are allowed to the besieging armies in GvG, as well as to you in GvG and PvP, and GvG defending armies.
Your personal bonuses apply story line quests/bonus line quests/events.
Rewards from GvG (ie: unit recruit time/building costs) apply story line/bonus line quests/events.

. . . . mk

support pool applies exclusively to GvG
things that affect it: guild level, observatory (10/lvl), deal castle (3/lvl), st basil (3/lvl)

Divide the support pool by support factor (found in gvg overview for each age)

what you have left is the total % applied to all sectors you own, up to the cap. this applies first to the HQ, then to adjacent sectors, then to sectors adjacent to those, and so on, until you run out.

Does sieging a sector prevent pass through of support?

eg 4 sectors in a row: HQ, 2, 3 and 4. If I siege 2 do 3 and 4 continue to receive support during the siege?

Major-General
sectors 3 & 4 will still have the support, also even if you win sector 2, sectors 3 & 4 will still have support even though there are no longer connected to the HQ, the support is only changed during the daily calc

I would need to test this, but I believe 3 and 4 will not receive support if the sector is sieged long enough for the daily calculation to take place.

@SFM-ByeOrDie - interesting... so perhaps a siege just before reset on 2 would mean after calc 3 and 4 would have no support until the siege is broken and next daily calc is done.

Correct if you take 2 before calc but siege does not stop support only taking the sector does.
