I once worked at a place that restricted access to programming forums where I used to get help.

I always imagined I would just take my phone, and hook up its net on that damn machine in cases like this. :D

Nowadays if I ended up in that situation I would just complain until someone fixed it. That was before smartphones went mainstream, though.

HTML5 is nothing extra to install, though. Are you using an old browser where it's not implemented yet? :-o
