Over the years, we've received many ideas for what our next Settlement should be. As we're researching topics for future development, we invite you to vote in this quick poll to help us refine them. The three cultures above have been the most mentioned and highlighted, and we'd like to bring one of them to life. Our goal with this feature is to celebrate the beauty and influence that different cultures have had on the world and bring them to Forge in our own unique way. If pirates are a culture so is the Mafia - and drug cartels. shall we make a settlement for them next? Messed up voting like this is what gave us criminals in power.

Everyone's just got a hard-on for Jack Sparrow and voting for pirates everywhere I've seen this poll. Too bad there was not a blockbuster movies series starring Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp that featured the Zulu tribe in Africa or the Inuit in Alaska/Canada.

That would lead to protests about Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp not being real Zulu's. At least you can make them look like Pirates.

Haven't you noticed that the term "Cultural" was removed from the Settlements some time ago. Now they are just Settlements and that makes Pirates an option as well. Not that it is very likely it would be anything other than Pirates anyhow. They have plenty of that on the shelves.

There hasn't been an original thought in this game for a while now. And any semblance of being historical or "cultural" is also out the window. NOT THAT I WANNA SPLIT HAIRS OVER THIS but the damned announcement still calls these all CULTURES:
"The three cultures above have been the most mentioned and highlighted"

EVEN THE POST TITLE SAYS TO VOTE ON CULTURAL SETTLEMENTS. This is a game in search of a direction, for sure, torn between a more lofty founding principle and their need to destroy those principles in order to make it more appealing/dumbed-down to sell it to the masses.

That's all copy & paste as well. They do not even bother to reread what they actually announce and the CM just blindly posts it without even looking at what she posts, cause she is usually very late.

Just look at the previous announcement for the inventory log. It says: "We're excited to introduce the new Inventory Log which will be available on beta on Tuesday, April 1st!"

All they did was change the date. Did not even bother to read what they were announcing.

None....of those mentioned are specific enough to be considered actual cultures

Cultural settlements.... refers to groups or communities with distinct cultural identities that distinguish them from other peoples or communities,


So you really need to be very much more specific in the choices,

The African one for instance could refer to multiple cultures still present today from the Berbers of North Africa to the Namibian peoples of southern Africa, there are many distinct cultures in between,

As for North America, why not be specific choosing between the very different tribes of indigenous peoples, there are many to chose from.

As for pirates...forget it, they are not a culture in any sense of the word

You might as well go pre history..... say the Beaker Peoples of Europe, or fantasy with the Atlantians....

When doing these votes it should also be compulsory to have a DO NOT WANT or NONE OF THE ABOVE voting button, only giving players a choice of intended ( and probably already constructed ) features is not a proper choice, we should be able to add a negative vote as well, the same with the like button on posts, why isn't there a dislike button ? If it's good enough for YouTube, it should be good enough for FoE
