Update from the Product Head

It seems that feedback on announcements is no longer appreciated on the forums. Maybe we are forced to result to Discord, or maye they no longer want feedback at all. Anyhow, you got to love this:

"Recently, we launched Quantum Incursions, and unfortunately, it introduced several bugs that weren't detected on our Beta server. We're as surprised as you were and are actively working to resolve these issues."

Who really was surprised?

I'm surprised they're working on the 2nd raid based on IA, when the first is IA.

Where is the list of what they're implementing for the sprint? There was no relevant information in the whole thing and if he's surprised about bugs he's very new to the job here.

Heroes could be interesting, they started adding them into games probably 10 years ago, depends on how they're done.

Companies are trying to approach broader auditoriums by implementing multiple ways of communication. but not considering if they could even cover it with current resources or even want to cover it. which leads to even worse customer satisfaction than previously was.
People want to digitalize, but in reality, don't know how to do it.

At the end there is a paragraph that is censored? In early 2025 they want to add a proper and scalable ??? Guild vs Guild I think it must be but its garbled text, which they can build on for years to come?

Improving great buildings so that some of them stay relevant? ...LOL. Now we are not sure which ones are going to get buffed and which we can delete, lovely. I would not hold my breath, I think Alcatraz is still dead and gone. But I guess this is acknowledging that they antiquated a big part of the game and people see no point in most GBs now. Better would be to think about that before throwing the game completely toward events and fragments.

I'm surprised they're working on the 2nd raid based on IA, when the first is IA.
That seems like a misprint doesn't it? You'd think they'd be working on one for EMA next. I assumed they were going to cycle through all the ages with incursion versions. It is one way to get a use for the standard build menu items that have also been antiquated out of the game by events and fragments.

I would have thought so but I would have also thought a Product Head would at least proof read their messages and have an understanding what the current QI is based on, so not 100% sure what the plan is.

Between that and the whole *%il$ $&. G*$%d mystery (Which the general theory seems to be GVG). There seems to either be more queries than answers from the statement.

There are some positives in the product head statement, they appear to want to do more of our suggestions.
No real info about the QI bugs or what they are trying to fix and we are left to guess about the price of oil *%il$ $&. G*$%d !!!

There is a cynical, yet probably accurate, comment on Discord that this tease about GvG is a tacit acknowledgement that people aren't that happy with QI and the negative repercussions of removing GvG are more than they anticipated.

lol. at some point you just have to get a good laugh about how circular the firing squad is.

lol i 'm still hoping they'll implement a true replacement for gvg wich is the bigest reason i'm still loging in on forum and have'nt deleated my citys yet

4 months later, still no clue what is happening with the feature formerly known as "great buildings" that are irrelevant compared to current event buildings. The fall event right now offers a building with over 100% blue defense boosts (both kinds) which is better than a level 113 St Basil (gives only 82%.)

Players can get the new Fall event building with ~1 month of play and the level 113 Basil took ~years. I figure that was the point, shift the game away from long time players and toward newbies who can catch up to 5 years of game play in 5 months instead, maybe faster if they open their wallet. I thought the intention was to get rid of the GB system entirely in favor of monetizing buying the latest and greatest every month - but then came that half-a-loaf announcement about improving "some" GB's to keep them "relevant."

We're in a continual holding pattern with the game as it is impossible to make decisions about "strategy" without knowing what changes are coming to GB's. I don't want to delete more than I already have until I know more, and I don't really want to develop my city further either. The longer this goes on the worse it is for the game.

After 10 years of play, I'm finding it hard to motivate myself to keep logging in; say what you will about my point of view, but ask yourself what it takes to drive away a 10-year fan. Wake me up when you figure out where the game is going.

i think Inno really wants everyone to basically be so tired of waiting so that they remove their GBs just so they can release the changes after. Or...GB revamp won't bring as much profit as other upcoming features do so they are constantly postponing work on GBs :D

Once you reach SAT those old GB's are dead meat anyway Ariana. I still don't get why that obsession with those GB's that had their use and a lot still have while going through the ages and developing your city but become less useful or inefficient. You just delete those GB's and move on while keeping enough to put your fp's on while gathering enough resources to add levels to the truly useful ones.

the core of the problem is that something you spend a lot of time grinding on gets invalued by something you can get through one event in multiple quantities. I personally think that it destroys the whole "marathon" point of this game because new players can catch up with old ones extremely quickly.

Players don't realise the grind it took on those gbs if they didnt experience it, even Arc was a complete grind early on. GBs producing 70/80 fps when the best event buildings produced 1 fp on 4 spaces.

I played the new server for a little while and they had the new players offers on and the XL pack for sale at £100, 500 fps etc, by the time the first event finished I was producing more than the XL pack offered over a few days. That XL pack would have been huge advantage in the first 7 years or so.

I think if there are anymore of Matts messages posted, they need to relate to the yearly quarter that they are posted. Not on the never never. It feels like all the individual depts are operating separately and on different time scales. Whatever they thought would be the postive outcome of announcing changes is slowly disappearing, as it appears from the players perspective they aren't doing anything with it and players are holding off deleting gbs 'Just incase' I'm not ill just rebuild them.

It was a huge grind for me to get my RFP to level 110 and those BP's were damn hard to get as it was all Arc meta and that's it. But when the Aegean Resorts popped up a Year ago and a month later the Autumn vineyards I did not hesitate and deleted my RFP and started to build up my Aegean Resorts fleet. The RFP was challenging and fun and actually very rewarding back then but time's up, it's obsolete now and I'm not going to beg Inno to make my RFP great and very relevant again. It's gone anyway, replaced by event buildings that are simply way better.

RFP the bp grind was the only one for that gb. It had numerous levels where owner contributions on fps where minimal on 1.9. It felt like they calculated them wrong.

Those messages are only posted to dangle a carrot in front of you. They held a community sprint. Nobody knows what the outcome was, but now, if players comment on a new feature, like the Hospital, they have massively voted on it in the sprint. Basically communication from Inno sucks big time and that is not very likely to change.

It's not only Inno and FoE but more or less in every game I've ever played online. But here in the case of the GB's a bit of clarity would be welcomed by players as more and more are reaching the point where they have to keep good event/QI buildings in their inventory. Folks will be disappointed if the GB's aren't boosted the way they all hope they will be but they will move on and make the cuts in their GB's. But here this carrot is actually bad because it's hurting players game play.
