Unrefined Goods for Modern Era

I'm just about to progress to the Modern Era, and I see the great building will now produce unrefined goods rather than products.

My question is - will the unrefined goods always be for the relevant age (ie Colonial goods for Modern Era) or can it be any ages goods that my GB's give me?
