Duplicate: ubuntu users discriminated after last update

DeletedUser13229

Since last update I can't play the game as I keep getting info about having flash in version older than 11.3
Well of course I have older version as I'm using firefox and standard-adobe-flash-based-chromium

http://www.adobe.com/products/about-flash.html

Why it suddenly is so important to have the newest flash installed? There is no performance gain nor any major stability issues have been solved. All you "get" is couple of players leaving the game.

Btw. I tried windows XP IE8 browser on my virtual machine and even though I updated my flash to 11.5 I still couldn't play. It might have been some old cached files issues, but I must admit whatever you did in last update, definitely rejected access from some of the players.

I hope you can fix this
Peace!

Hi ascko. There has been a discussion about the 11.3 flash version check in another thread (found here), including a few suggestions on how to still access Forge of Empires from Linux. Hope that helps.

From one of our Co-Community Managers
there are some ways to play FoE with linux.

1) use Google Chrome (current flash version is 11.5)
2) there is a way to use 11.3+ for Chromium: http://www.webupd8.***/2012/09/how-to-make-chromium-use-flash-player.html
3) an Arch-package is available: http://aur.archlinux.***/packages.php?ID=60443

This I got directly from the developers. Hope it helps. busted my backside getting this info from that secretive lot :D

Hope that helps.

I'm a Linux Mint user and I don't want to use Chrome/chromium so FoE is a no-no right?
Shame - it looked quite cool.
Cheers

I use Linux and have no issues when using Chrome, so not sure what people are getting in a hussy for. Adobe has ended support for Linux; this is old news.
