Tactics against heavy troops in Contemporary Era

What is a good tactic to use against assault tanks in the Contemporary Era? None of the other units seem to have a particularly large bonus against heavy troops (the best is 25% on the one-shot missile launchers, as versus e.g. the 80% advantage of an AA unit against fast troops), and with the maximum cap of 4 points of damage, they take an awful lot of killing. Overwhelming numbers works, but when the opposing army is 80-100% composed of tanks, that doesn't help. An attack using only missile launchers - under the usual scissors-paper-stone theory - would be a complete non-starter.

Use assault tanks as well to counter assault tanks. It should do the job as long as you have decent combat bonuses.

Even with 98% attack bonus to the AI's 65% and four tanks + four rogues, I still can't beat the two-wave attack in 3rd level GE :-(
Ended up with one of my tanks to two of his...

if i see 8 tanks in GE or on the map....i negotiate, especially if its in the 1st wave
