Space age mars can't explore province

Help, I'm in space age mars and I've explored 12/13 provinces in space age 1/2 and 4/18 provinces of space age 2/2. For some unknown reason the game will not allow me to explore the remaining sectors. Am I missing something I should have completed before I got to this stage or is there a 'glitch' in my game. Hopefully one of you guys can help. Thanks

The red sectors? You need to own them before you can use the Exploration sites :)

Thanks for that but how do I get to own them when the game doesn't appear to allow me to scout them. Am I missing something that I haven't done yet? In my OP I should have said 'scout'rather than 'explore'

Hi, I'm probably being incredibly stupid but when I click on or move the cursor over the site this is the message I get. I can't seem to advance any further in trying to scout/acquire/explore the red sectors. Is there a task or anything I need to fulfill before I get the 'spyglass' to scout the sectors?

Where is your scout? Are you perhaps scouting on another map?

Are you trying to click on the rock or the red section around it? I don't have anymore to test with but sure tapping the rock didn't work and you needed to press the sector around it.

Any mine sectors I have now bring up the mining page if I hit the rock and the actual sectors if I hit the surrounding area.

It's the same for all provinces on all maps in all ages. You have to click/tab on the area around the "reward icon" to get to the overview of the sectors in the province.

Don't think that matters. Costs of scouting is showing nowhere on those images. That's what you click.
