SOCCER EVENT RIPOFF

i bought 3 large diamond team cards....about 3600 diamonds?

i played for 2 days all the games i could,

i checked my standings 500th in the HR server.....more or less

i had 15 times less points than the best team...

by my calculations he must have spent a fortune in extra matches and team cards.....

dont care about the rewards..... but i am not expending a cent extra....

this "EVENT" IS ...ENTIRELY PAY TO WIN...... spend $1000 you will have the best team.....win every match ....and play 100 times more matches than most of the server, spend $2000....you nearly unbeatable, like having a team of best goalkeeper....best defense...and 7 MESSIS OR RONALDOS...or BOTH

INNO , THIS IS EA.....ACTIVISION, ROCKSTAR, KIND OF LOOTBOX predatory practice....that we players really hate..... and goverments are starting to ban

to the FANBOIS who say "you dont have to buy it"...

you are directly responsible for games being more programmed for lootboxes , than actual gameplay......if nobody says anything...next event will be even worse.......paying for extra matches is despicable......buying unlimited team packs cards is despicable

if any of you want a long detailed explanation of why lootboxes are destroying the games industry check this tom clancy ghost reckon analysis video

These events get the devs paid mate.. if someone is willing to drop $2k getting the best team let them have at it for me.. it’s cash players like those who enable us poor people to play for free :P
The summer event is going to be much the same and a cash players wet dream too with that heavily OP building coming in that..
As for games like Ghost Recon & like with loot boxes that is the model most games go by these days.. FIFA pro clubs & cod have been doing it years mate and EA have got rich by doing it.. can you blame Inno for following their lead?..

So, if spending endless amounts of money shouldn't give you first place, and not spending money should, can you explain how innogames will make money? I'm sure it'll be interesting.

One is not forced to pay to play – and for using diamonds, it is essentially up to the each player, also those that does not want to use money – just exchange that with more playtime and many more clicks creating Diamond farms on nearly all the servers you desire, then you can still use plenty fo diamonds in events.

I do not agree to many things Inno does, or rather does not do with the game, but Paying $ is up to each player. You got to remember that no rewards are given for being number 1 on a server and there is no finish line to this game - it stops when you stop playing.

Any players desire, ambition and own interpretations of the game is what makes the player use money and time on playing. Unless it is E-sport, Booking, Lotto, Casino style or similar – there is nothng to win in games like FoE other than leisure time, fun and excitement, escapesim.

Nobody is forced to play games unless they work in a game company.
All those that still "play games", play the RL games – each to ones own desire.

I agree with the OP. There is a big difference between games that give you cosmetic enhancements or small boosts when you pay, vs pay to win. The game seems to be moving further in the wrong direction.

I do pay to help keep the lights on btw, because I spend a lot of time playing and enjoy it, and it gives me a little edge. But there are limits and if you go too far then it’s no longer fun.

It’s a big topic and this place isn’t well suited to having that conversation, and it definitely won’t change hearts and minds, so I’m bowing out on that note.

This game is by no means the worst offender in fact it’s one of the best MMO’s I’ve found.. I’ve played games before where it’s simply impossible to compete with a cash player! Trust me when you watch a Russian guy drop $1000+ the day new units come out upgrading his army then running riot with them you get to learn that real quick.. I watched another guy spend $100k+ (conservative estimate) over the course of 3yrs keeping top spot in another game.. the only thing that kept me going that long was with all that cash doesn’t come skill.. it makes it very easy to read what he’s going to do and adjust your play style accordingly.. (If anyone thinks I’m bad here in FoE you should’ve seen me in those games..)

Here I can compete with even the biggest spenders.. I have #6 on the leaderboard in my hood this time and he must hate me ;)
Cash makes the game easier yes but there is not much that you can’t get with a bit of patience..
There will always be an idiot with more money than sense who’s willing to drop a fortune to be #1 on a leaderboard or have 10 or so of the latest all singing and dancing event buildings.. leave them to it imo they just finance the game for the rest of us

it is a predatory practice than many governments around the world are considering to classify as GAMBLING, it exploits children and immature adults using psychologically tricks to create a loop of addiction.....

i do however make myself no illusions most of the comments here are as biased as "the last of us 2 reviews" none of you care about the credit card addiction abuse that the games industry inflicts upon fans....1 step of the way after another,

EA gets $4.6 billion from that GAMBLING ,IN EA they call it" surprise mechanics", they are destroying 1 franchise at a time...i .hope people wake up

You can have the best team in all servers, but dont worry, the difficilt match will be 50 levels over you. I have a good team and I play against NPCs like that, because i dont find their names in the player ranking.

It isn't a ripoff when everybody has the same chance.

Yes EA are predatorial and it can be very destructive indeed, cartainly for kids and immature addults – but we sort of come into politics and related areas Your Wake Up call is indeed relevant, but in the end it usually points back to each individual (With some exceptions). I am not forced to play FoE, I am not forced to write here. I could choose a ton of other different ways to use my time. Gaming is for the most part escapism in some way – it triggers various things in the brain depending on the game type.

I have friend who playerd newer mobile game and got caught using way too much money on it jsut to get to the top as fast as possible, – also in game where there was no chance of winning those money back like in FOE – You have to ask what drives a normally well thinking person to completely let go and just start spending way too much money on a game? – Surely it is not the advertising for the game that does it all.

Marketing mechanics can influnnce people more than they would like to know, and you can create needs that are not there – but then we go to the point were we need to talk about the world we have been creating and continuesly are creating – why do so many people want the escapsim that games provide – what is it we are escaping from all the time?. Gaming gloablly is a bigger industry than the movie business. And one also need to ask why people are not trying to understand the mechanics of these types of applied psycology methods – it is used in any clever company for marketing, for service, for sale etc. and hey we got the the whole good damn internet at our fingertips. If someone wants to know more about nearly any subject it is possible to find stuff – at least something that will frame the subject matter and most likely lead to other stuff. Studying is not something that is accomplished in the school or university – it is a way of approaching the world.

One could also argue that if a person can find out how FoE works in all aspects, then the person should also be clever enough to see through the Diamond offers that Inno brings to make their earnings. Nearly nothing in this comsumer based world comes for free – Not even those that are free like a google mail, Facebook, instagram etc. etc. FoE does not differ from that at all – one could even argue that InnoGames is slightly on the conservative side or that they are not particualr good at being predatorial in that regard. The only thing where they are a bit off is their marketing, that part of it where it is sold as a city builder, (and I still think their Click amounts are ridiculous over what is needed – But that is their passive Engagement income, good for investor realtions) But hey do you act on every adverstisement that you see?. Just becasue you see a Coca Cola add, does not mean you have to go and buy it.

FoE can be played without using diamonds, or rather without buying diamonds – that is if the player can accept that others will be positioned higher than the player it self. It is ambition in escapeism, and their is no obvious logic to it, other than certain stimulations in the brain, that perhaps are not stimulated otherwise in the persons real life. (But that is certainly not conclusive either).

E.g All over the Flow TV networks GAMBLING are being advertised in very high density – so governments try to contain it by making laws and regualtions – but they hestiate to ask why people are having this apparently great need or urge - a too senstive and complicated subject for most mainstream politicians to touch. I could go on with this, but it is over my bed time now.

Goodnight

Lol! Inno is no where close to the level of scumbaggery like the big developers have become!

Yes, while it's entirely true that no FtP player will have any chance of even staying in Bronze league without spending some cash, keep in mind that by;
1. completing ALL the quests
2. collecting your incidents every single day
3. collecting the 'free' daily currency
AND
4. *always choose only the most distance efficient player in the Training game

Every F2P player should still easily be able to complete both main buildings to Lv5 at a minimum.
Even at "only" Lv.5, add in a few added track links and you will still have a ridiculously strong building for exactly $0.00

Few other supposedly 'free to play' games, especially those published by the big main stream developers will give out that much. Hell, in most other supposedly F2P browser games, there are built-in pay walls that basically keep every single non-paying player forever stalled out behind all the spenders.
Be happy that FoE is honestly an incredibly 'pay-to-win lite' game.

I think the previous event was worse for encouraging you to spend diamonds/real money to progress when rewards were peeping out the sand on a day of a good daily prize and you were just a spade short................ It can work both ways just looking at the tournament league table you have to wonder if the stats are possible so any aspiration to appear on the leader board evaporates so you just use your tickets to try and beat the % game and win a few points or medals.
