Proposal:

Show a warning if you're about to send out the ship (AF) or sub (OF) while it still has damage

Have you checked the forums for the same or similar idea: yes

Reason:

This is purely a convenience feature to avoid sending out vessels when they are damaged and thus will bring back less resource

Details:

When sending out the ship or sub that has damage, show a warning "Your vessel is damaged and may return fewer goods. Would you like to [Send Anyway][Repair]". Clicking Send Anyway would send off the damaged vessel. Clicking Repair would open the repair dialog. After undertaking repairs you would click Send to send the ship off.

Visual Aids:

Balance/Abuse Prevention:

This is a simple convenience feature, no balance/abuse prevention is required.

Summary:

This is a minor UX enhancement that could be implemented trivially, and be helpful to players in AF and OF to avoid accidentally sending out damaged ships and then immediately regretting it. In the minority situation where you want to send out the damaged vessel then it adds one click, in the majority case where it's an oversight it is a useful feature. TBH this doesn't happen terribly often but would be appreciated in those cases where it does occur.

How about confirmation for a confirmation? I don't mind as long as you can turn it off like rest.

Why would you turn it off? If the warning was that you were about to send out a damaged vessel then surely the likely outcome is that you’d do the repairs and be grateful for the warning?

But I’ve realised that better than having the warning, just put a button “fix & send ship” next to the “send” ship button; clicking it would pay for repairs and send the ship off all in 1 click..

Lieutenant
why not get into the habit of clicking on "ship" tab when you enter the harbour , see if it needs repairing then click on the crew tab and select a crew , it's only a couple of clicks, and it's not as if you get to send the ship out more than once a day at most of the time

DeletedUser117610

Yes it’s only 3 clicks but like everything in this game it’s 2 clicks too many.

DeletedUser117610

No. If you used the warning then it would reduce clicks from 4 to 2 to launch and repair.

If you used the button I suggested in a previous comment as a better implementation then it would reduce clicks from 4 to 1.
