Should I build any of these GB's?

I'm looking to improve my city more with better GB's. Any of the ones above worth investing in? I'm on Modern Era but was helped a little by a freind who doesn't play no more. I've jumped era's too fast and now struggling on my own.

CoA - don't believe the "fighter or farmer" theory: this is a fighting game.
CF - one of the best.
Others may have early game benefits but are all meh long term.

ToB and ND are not even remotely worth getting. Deal is OK for a while but only if you have no Arc.
There is a thread on here somewhere showing what all the top players have if you can find it.
