Setting up diamond farms

Okay, I have decided to begin with diamonds farming project by making diamond farms on couple of worlds. Now, before I start with it, I would like to ask a couple of questions:
1. Should I focus on full WWs farm or GE oriented farm?
2. How much time would I need on average before my farm reaches it true diamonds farming potential?
3. What GBs would I need to have in order for my farm to function perfectly?

I only have one farm, it is also GE oriented with zeus, cdm, coa and traz as well as a few decent event buildings.

Originally I did this as I like GE and it gives plenty of diamonds on L4 however with the introduction of fountain of youth shrink kits I have found it to be an excellent source of additional wells, so much so that almost half of my farm is now mini FoYs and I need to age up for more space
