I am at a stage where scouting missions can take up to three days, which plays havoc with Event timing.
On the Continent Map the telescope scouting symbol has the cost in coins beside it but not the time taken to complete the mission.
Early in the game the coin amounts are small and the scouting times are short, indicating some cost/time relationship.
Later in the game scouting costs are much higher as are the times. Is there a direct connection between these two parameters or is there another way to determine how long a particular scouting mission will last?

That's weird, cause I think max scouting time is 48 hrs.

Scouting lasts longer when you get further into the game. It is as simple as that.

Yeah , that I know but I am looking for a way to predict how long a scout will take so that it can be started and finished to coincide with the requirement of a future event. That way the progress of your next quest is not delayed by up to 48 hours.

send it long enough before and don't open the map
then the scout doesn't arrive

because opening makes him arrive and finish the quest condition
