Proposal:
Rebalancing Guild Battleground by adjusting attrition penalty gain.
Reason:
Attrition penalty growing too fast, which if favoring stronger guilds. This results in having one guild stomping the map, while other guilds can hardly get more than one sector a day. In lower leagues, sometimes guilds can't take a single sector.
Details:
I should first say that the goal of this proposal is not to affect rewards. Even after the re-balance, each player should on average get the same amount of rewards as before. If rewards are not balanced, it is a matter for another topic.
The goal is to adjust attack penalty gain, so that it grows slower in the beginning, but speed up faster as the attrition grows. This way, it will be easier to fight up to certain attrition, after which it will be harder than what we have at the moment. Spending personal resources (units and goods) on taking the sector and spending guild goods on building traps and siege camps, just to have that sector retaken moments after 4h lock is over, is demotivating, to say the least..
Such change will have multiple effects:
1. Weaker guild will have a chance to take more sectors
2. Siege camps will not be as effective
3. Most active players will now spend less time fighting (since, overall, they will be able to do fewer fights)
4. Lower league BGs will be more active
Using the data from wiki page, attrition gain is approximated by following function: 0.0003x^3 + 0.1685x^2 + 1.4634x + 0.2568. If the function is to be adjusted to, for example: 0.001x^3 + 0.15x^2, we would have following attrition table:
This means that up until attrition 61, a penalty would be lower than it currently is, after which is higher.
