I don't know how moderators or game masters or whatever you call them in this game are supposed to act in regards to messing with the players profiles. But to not even notify the player accordingly is a tad sad and downright strange.

My profile said, "I am playing this game naked."

Today I logged in and it said, "I am playing this game and I will not offend anyone." Now, if someone is offended by this, they #1 have no sense of humor and #2 are pushing their moral beliefs on me and #3 I did not violate any of the guidelines.

Naked is not a dirty word, it is not a racial word and it is not a hateful word.

I wouldn't be saying anything if I felt that not even consulting me about the change or letting me know what guidelines and/or terms I violated when it was changed.

The message below is straight from the in-game rules thread found under the Announcement forums.

3) Communication

Insulting other players and the use of language in an abusive/offensive context is forbidden.

We do not accept profiles, player names, village names or any other publications that the Administration finds to be illegal, insulting, threatening, abusive, real-life-aggressive, sexual, politically incorrect, right extreme, religiously fanatic, racist or in any way inappropriate.

It is forbidden to advertise other games, post inappropriate content or links to such, or post links to moneymaking sites.

Phishing or blackmailing players for passwords or ingame content is forbidden. Spamming other players with in-game mails is abusive and will not be tolerated.

Examples:
It is allowed to refer to a player as a beginner (noob) and to criticize their way of playing using appropriate language.
It is against the rules to impersonate any staff member.
It is forbidden to post pornographic links in the profile or on any other medium.
Racist, illegal, discriminatory or inappropriate names will lead to an immediate game ban.
Using any profanity, insulting language, or being abusive towards any staff member in the support system is grounds for a permanent ban.
We ask players to not use account names that include whole email addresses or full names, for player safety.

You have a picture of a cat shooting a gun on your post. Isnt that against the rules for threatening? real-life-aggressive? I find that someone who has a picture of sniper to be much more of a problem then someone saying they are playing naked

So what part of that violates the terms of service? I don't get why you posted that when it has NOTHING to do with the said non-violation.

My husband got me into the game. It's pretty fun. Cept for the moral warriors.

Oh don't worry RufusT.Firefly, that picture is only for Blacksmith. :) I actually find it quite cute, as I believe other's do as well :D

Dstemper, I only posted what is most likely the cause of your profile being changed. I did not personally do that to your account, nor do I only the specific reason. However, I believe it could fit into the category of "sexual" or "in any way inappropriate". You would have to take it up with the mod who changed it though to find the specific answer. Sorry!

Before I posted anything in my profile, I read the terms and what was deemed offensive. While the other moderator might have differing views of what is sexual or any way in appropriate, the profile in no means violates those in any way.

BUT, the main issue was the lack of even telling me why it was a violation and editing my account to his/her own whim with disregard to even letting me know. I find that offensive and invasive.

personally i don't find your old profile offensive, i can see the funny side of it.
in regards the changing of it without your consent or even notification it was changed is something i don't agree with. in my opinion if there was an issue with it support should have contacted you and asked you to change it where they could explain the reasoning behind it. but somebody somewhere obviously views it as a rule break, agree with it i don't but never the less the rules are there and must be obeyed no matter our views . best thing you can do is open a ticket and ask them there

Wow. I find it offensive that the profile was changed at all, and especially that it was done without contacting her first. Very hypocritical too, considering the jokes some of the mods themselves have made on the forums. All perfectly harmless stuff, of course, but so was the OP's original profile.

mmmm well usually its me that deals with those things. I never touched her profile. If I were to do that I always contact the player and let them know. We do have a communication system with players but when we initiate it, it is done through the Email of the player. My suggestion would be to check your junk folders (if it hasnt been cleared yet) of the email you used to register for the game.

I have looked with my tools and it doesnt show who touched your profile but I will be aquireing more tools pretty soon as I just got a promotion and if you remind me I can check afterwards if you dont have the email then I can talk to the person who changed it. I can only assume it was edited because someone complained as its not something any of us with abilities would do on our own initiative unless it was really bad. This wasnt bad in my view.

Thanks for looking into it, I have checked my spam folder and nothing in there from Forge of Empires. And Yes, I would have expected if it was against ToS that I would have been contacted, but that was not the case. I updated my email when it offered the diamonds to do so.

BTW, Congrats on your promotion. I appreciate you taking the time to look into this, it really took me by surprise as I don't like to hurt peoples feelings but make people laugh.

But I understand that some people do, and some people find it humorous. Anyway, I was just simply trying to help you understand why it might have been changed. Whoever changed it should have contacted you. Hopefully we can figure out who it is and then they will contact you. :)

I appreciate what you said, and I didn't take offense to it, just merely pointed out that in the terms, I don't find it sexual, nor crude.

It would be like going to the Museum and seeing a painting of a nude woman and calling it pornography. It's all matter of opinion.
