@Bartimaeus46 - Thanks for trying to help. Well it appears I'm wrong about the UK, maybe it is plusnet/BT broarband that is the problem.

I ran some traceroutes on my mac, to google, another MMO based in germany and forge of empires. The first two resolve, forge of empires never resolves. I don't know if this helps anyone diagnose the issue ...

So it seems like it is only a http://en.forgeofempires.com issue for you. If you want, try accessing a few more of those flags up top to see if that is in fact, the issue.

Hopefully soon, I can get someone in here with an answer, or find one myself, until then, please stay patient, we are trying to help figure this out.

Perhaps reset your router? Turn if off for 5 minutes, and kick it back on, sometimes that helps me when I get something like this.

@57Herluth - Thanks for trying to help. I tried rebooting the router, but no luck. I also tried accessing all flags from http://us.forgeofempires.com/. All fail and the web page hangs.

Hello everyone, I have done a bit of research, and can see that BT are having some DNS issues. More information can be found: here

For those of you that don't want to read the thread, it recommends that you change your DNS to Google DNS. For a guide on how to do this, please view the following page: Google DNS.

@ac04 - Looks like the problem is indeed a BT issue. However, changing DNS to GoogleDNS on my router didn't fix it for me. Thanks for your help though.

DeletedUser4089

I'm not sure if this will help, but worth a try, maybe try flushing the dns now, to make sure you're making use of the GoogleDNS addresses?

On the original link I sent you, there are people confirming that GoogleDNS did fix the problem, have you followed the steps to verify whether the DNS was changed successfully? Testing the configuration

Furthermore, would you be able to try setting the DNS settings on your mac, rather than on the router, to see if this makes any difference to you.

DeletedUser5356

@Bartimaeus46 - Thanks I tried flushing the cache, but it did not help.
@ac04 - Tried on both router and mac. Agreed that the BT link suggests this is the solution, but the last post on page 4 is experiencing the same problem as me. He changed the DNS and it is still not working.

I think I'm going to have to admit defeat. No forge for me today. Thanks for everyones help.

Having a problem logging in today. The loading bar (that says 70% etc) says server error. I have not experienced this before when there has been problems my end. And it only happens on my cirgard account. not the other worlds. Switching browsers gives the same issue. I am on virgin media not on BT. Will be taking the laptop round a friends in a bit see if that has any effect.

DeletedUser3609

I have the same problem. I can log into any server apart from Cirgard. It gets to 70% then says server error.

DeletedUser

I could log in earlier today without any problems, tried logging out/in now and indeed, I encounter the same thing.

Hope it gets solved soon :).

DeletedUser2770

i would, but for that i need to be logged in. (thats re: for the deleted msg about providing the info)
would be nice,if/when "server error"s are persistent,to disable world button and put a hint on it or something?

or if thats to much a hassle, please make a sticky world status thread,so there's a single place to look at,or report to
