Option to prevent account from being lost within 30 days of inactivity

DeletedUser109385

Proposal:
An option that prevents and allows players to lose their worlds within 30 days of inactivity

Have you Checked the Ideas section for the same idea posted by someone else? Is this idea similar to one that has been previously suggested?Couldn't find none.

Reason:
Some players will be away for a month and not have access to this game for certain reasons like the place you are going to might not have internet or you are not allowed to take electronic devices with you on the journey for certain reasons. If a player has spent 3 years on a world and then gets deleted just because of 1 month of inactivity is really unfair so this idea will actually make it fair for them because your hard work should be kept with you and not lost.

Details:
Players will simply click an option at the top of the corner window after they press play and there will be an option saying "enable worlds to get deleted within 30 days of inactivity? OK or Deny will be the options. If the player is inactive for more than 5 years after enabling this then the worlds will be automatically deleted.
Visual Aids:
Might add something as this idea develops.
Balance:
This idea will not make the game easier because it wasn't already easy to keep your account from getting deleted because of 1 month of inactivity, this idea is creating a way to do it.
Abuse Prevention:
None

Summary:
Please give good feedback whether you agree or disagree with the idea.

Cities are only deleted after 30days of inactivity if they are below High Middle Ages, this is sufficient to prevent deletion; it does not take particularly long to reach High Middle Ages, and is necessary in order to prevent the server being cluttered with thousands of inactive accounts.
I'm gonna say -1 as I can see pretty much everyone, even a player who only logs in once, opting not to have their city deleted if given a choice, and therefore we'd still potentially end up with inactive accounts everywhere.

But what's the point? What if a player of High Middle Ages or above becomes inactive?

I agree with Lady-lexis with regards to this idea and therefore give it a score of -1

The point I suppose is that the percentage of players who become inactive in the very early stages of the game is substantially higher, I imagine and a line must be drawn somewhere.

I have changed the post now, read the details part again.

After enabling this option and the player is still inactive for 5 years then the account gets automatically deleted, this will prevent inactive accounts from being clustered everywhere.

Appreciate that you tweaked the idea but, what then happens when folks who have been inactive for a long time return to the game and start complaining that they have opted to not have their cities deleted but it has happened anyway? 5 years is a tremendously long time anyway; for example, this would mean that inactive accounts created when the game launched would still be on the servers today, even if still in Stone Age.

Its another layer of fine print and complication when there is already a pretty simple and effective way of reducing inactive accounts.
I still cannot see that this is needed.

They will be given a notice that their world will be deleted if they do not log in for 5 years so this option is just extending the time when they enable the option of not having their world deleted within 30 days of inactivity.
Yes I know 5 years it's long but at least it will stop thousands of inactive accounts from begin clustered everywhere into the game.

??

Five years' worth of inactive accounts will be sitting there, accruing. How is that anything other than "being clustered everywhere"?

we need the opposite
world accounts who are inactive for too long (maybe 6 month) should be deleted

there are still players in the game who have quit the game 4 years ago and their city is still available

As it has already been pointed out only account younger than HMA will be deleted and if a player wants to delete a world higher than that they can always contact the support team to do it.

But if you have 250 diamonds or more will all of the world no matter what age they are be deleted?

As far as I know, the following criteria has been in effect since the update to 1.55 last year.

From now on, following accounts will be removed from the game worlds:
  • - Stone Age and Bronze Age accounts: account has less than 301 Diamonds and has been inactive for at least 30 days.
  • - Iron Age and Early Middle Age accounts: account has less than 50 Diamonds and has been inactive for at least 30 days.
  • - Higher ages are currently excluded from deletion.
It used to be 250 but it didn't make any sense as a new player can get 300 diamonds pretty much straight off the bat without doing much in their game.

How can a player from bronze age get 300 diamonds straight away? They cannot take part in GE and quests barely give enough diamonds to make it 300

So if I have an Iron Age world that has been inactive for 30 days but I have 50 diamonds at least will the world get deleted?

Unless the above criteria has changed then no, an Iron Age city with 50 diamonds or more on the master account would not be deleted.
