Oceanic Terminal Question

I noticed that Oceanic Terminal does not seem to produce Orichalcum daily like the Arctic Harbour produces Promethiumm does.
The Arctic Harbour consistently produces 120 goods daily plus the ship. The Oceanic Terminal however produces from nothing to 10 or even 120 but it appears to be random, and for the last three days... nothing (except the ship)... Is this normal?

The Oceanic Terminal does not produce Promethium at all.

Yes. All you are getting from the harbor or terminal is what each ship brings in. It varies in both of them depending on what crew you put on the ship. They don't produce anything on their own.
 
I have watched them both produce goods upto 120 at daily harvest with both ships out of port. While I do not have any buildings that produce these rare goods. Yet....
 
It was designed to be a bottleneck, the whole special goods requirement was. There are event buildings that will help with special goods now but generally you need to slog it out. It'll get easier as you upgrade the crew.

You have watched both harbours produce goods. How? You didn't notice you can not collecr from the harbours when the ship is out of port?
 
By hovering my mouse cursor over the era goods and seeing I have 169 Orichalcum and after harvesting, doing same and seeing I have 289 Orichalcum while the ship is still out.
Thanks Forwandert and Ariana, your answers were at least non belittling and helpful. Now to look for event buildings as i think I see one in the Christmas open all keys prize at 80 goods with a gold star and a dice.

So it does not occur to you that when the ship is out there just has to be another source? What else could it be, unless you think Santa is doing you a favor?

do you have Ai core or Space Carrier GB's ? these GB's produce special goods ex: Orichalcum ,Promethium , Mars ore ect
 
I know it's been a while since this posted, but as mentioned above, it's all about the crew you select. Don't just pick the ones that show up. I focus on trying to get the Instructor leveled and on any trip they show up on. The higher you get them, the faster all your other crew get promoted. The other crew member to always load out is the special goods improvement, this % boosts your other crew members yield. Then just start sending out your + special goods. Some crew start of negative, but as you level them their bad skills improve. Always try to send out the ship at 100% as this affects how much your crew produces. Early in the Age you might just be in the mid teens on collections, but after a few promotions you could be in the low hundreds. Keep in mind the AI Core can boost the collection too. A lot of players overlook this, but you can pick and choose which special goods get boosted. Once you get the synthesizers going, these also benefit from the AI Core.
And look at getting the Quantum...Transcendence building. It's like the SC, but you can use the finish special production, the BG or Eternal Market 2x on it. No fp's, so you don't have to keep dumping them to collect. Doing two or three self-aid, finish specials, 2x's, and AI Core boosts could me a full tech research each day. So also tie in those buildings that can give you frags for those self-aid, finish/finish all special productions. And if you apply this to the Space Ages, you can buy goods at the GbG store, use synthesizers for past ages, and still move fairly fast through research.
