I need to negotiate in Tyr, but don't know what the symbols mean, as there is no tool-tip or help for them. Can someone point me to the manual?....!

I had like 5 areas conquered before I got to Tyr - I just kept the lady waiting. (although I am now figuring out that skipping quests is not a major deal)

true but you will have the chance to not earn some special stuff as well.
till now i only skipped 1 and try not to skip any other..

well, it definitely takes a good deal of time to gather all those goods. i mean, if you want to get the quest with negotiating a whole province done. i was thiiiiis close to just dumping this challenge and slaughtering them all... but yeah, got that crap done, even though it really needs patience to get all this stuff that early in the game.
