I'm sure I've stumbled upon a list of guilds somewhere. Does someone know where I might find one? I'm in the Iron age and looking to join an active guild for trading etc.

Well, in the section you've just posted are quite some guilds recruiting. 
As for in-game:
On the top left of your screen, next to your town name you'll see a number. That is your rank in your world. Click on that.
In the pop-up, you'll see 3 tabs on top. The middle tab is called "Guilds". Click on that to see the guilds on your world.

Many thanks! I've found it. Still, if any good trading guilds out there would like a new active member (currently iron age) then do get in contact!
