I use PVP and GBG often but what do i click for GVG map?

Those playing on mobile can not grant freedom of sectors?
Thanks for your help but i still find the 2014 GvG guide to be more confusing than helpful which is why perhaps a veteran might like to update it or explain what has changed now.
