GVG Fighting

We don't have many ordinary guild members interested/able to do this game feature but it seems hard to find anything they can do except fill open defence slots.

Is there any reasonable way to give our ordinary members some fighting experience .. assuming they have troops in an era our guild wants to fight in.

I've looked in a few places for info/guidance on this to no avail

What do you mean?
If a player can field 8 units of the era he can join in an attack. for practise the best idea is to attack a LZ and delete before completion.

so (if i understand you right) they can only latch onto deleted sieges started by trusted members (assuming they have enough of the right era troops) they cant open their own sieges

You need to give a player"Trusted" permission so that they can open DA slots, set siege, release sector and so on.

We have players in trusted positions .. what I was looking for was what the ordinary guildie can do in GVG when those trusted are not around or able to lay sieges in an era

Only the trusted can unlock slots or start sieges.

So either the trusted need to start a siege(s) and leave it as is so the ordinary guildies can take it when they log on if it’s still there, or you need to make one of the “ordinary” members trusted

If the idea is simply to train and you have a group of hexes release the middle most hex (make sure it’s not a landing zone). Use that hex to train the others.

Or talk to your neighbours about if you could use one of their hexes to train if you don’t complete the siege. Or if there’s a NPC next to your hexes already use that to train your people.

Non trusted member CAN DO:

1. Donate goods to treasury
2. Attack enemy tiles for which siege that is in progress
3. Add defensive army to slots that are already open
4. Replace injured defensive army
5. Break enemy sieges on your tiles.

CANNOT DO
1. Move HQ
2. Release tiles
3. Please new siege
4. Open new DA slot
