Proposal:
Groups/Folders for message threads.
Reason:
I wish this had a better message board system. A far better organization of the message threads is needed specifically for guild purposes which commonly operate with gigantic amount of various threads and messages.
Categories should exist that contain the message threads. With each category being like a folder or group that the guild and the individual player can setup.
A guild usually runs numerous swap threads which update frequently and bury all other conversations, this should be relegated to a separate folder where it all can sit nicely in one group. A guildies only folder where messages just from guild members could be piled into would come in very handy as well. I often find that the guild's mud raising thread gets buried and is hard to find among all the messages. My head hurts from sorting through all this message mess...
There are several other use cases where just threads won't do, it would be preferable to have the ability to create groupings for guild specific tasks (like GvG related threads, various trade threads including unfair trades, mud raising etc.) and separate user specific groups/folders for out of guild conversations.
This should be configurable and guild groups should be able to complement player's own groups. By default the message center would be bare without groups as it is currently and no change would be visible.
Details:
The ability to create a group would exist on one new tab besides "Message Overview" and "Create Message" in the Message Center.
The options would include:
Folder name - Name of the group/category/folder where the threads will be collected.
List of threads - List of current thread names that would be collected in the group/category/folder.
Guild - a filter where messages just from guild members would be allowed flow into the group.
Non guild - an inversion of the aforementioned.
Balance/Abuse Prevention:
None needed.
