Great Buildings - Flagged when present on 1.9

Picton Boy

Private
Proposal: When a GB is present on a 1.9 thread, any player who views another players list of GB's will see an asterisk indicating which GB belonging to that player that is currently present on a 1.9 thread.

Reason: At times, players who are neither friend or guild mate may opt to search for GB's of another player to place FPs onto for rewards. When this is done, GB's that are on a 1.9 thread are at risk of an unintentional sniping which can cost the owner of the GB as well as bring unintended loss of rewards to players who are participating in the 1.9 thread. When this happens GB owners are left to either absorb the added FP costs, if any and or to message the player who made the contribution outside of the 1.9 thread, requesting that they place additional FP's on the building. Experience has shown that there can be delays in responses before corrections can be made.

Details: When a player selects the link displaying a players GB's when the player is present on the Neighbors tab, the visiting player will an Asterisk beside or other appropriate symbol attached to any GB that the Neighbourhood Player would currently have on a 1.9 thread. The visiting player will then know that if they wish to contribute to that GB, that they should do so based on the appropriate 1.9 rate of contribution.

Balance/Abuse Prevention: Identifying GB's in this manner would likely have the effect of decreasing unintended consequences for the owner of the GB and those who have contributed from the 1.9 thread. There is a potential for a player to purposely sabotage GB's that are flagged as present on a 1.9 thread. However, random contributions by other players can also have a similar impact.

Major-General
No, not at all. A 1.9 thread is purely a guild created thread - 1.9 is NOT part of the game. It was created by players, and it has been stated previously that the whole 1.9 is NOT an Inno/game feature.
Not everyone uses 1.9 (shock, oh my) and creating an idea where Inno should tie in threads to game features is an absolutely unncessary addition to even consider.
If there is a 'delay' of any kind - that is a player choice and style of play. Some players are basically online nearly 20+ hours a day (for whatever reason) and others may only be online once a day, or once every few days.

No. As Paladiac says above, 1.9 threads - and swaps threads - are player inventions. They are not a part of the game and not Inno's concern.
If I can snipe a 1.9 GB and gain a profit from it, I will do it. And I will not top up to 1.9 just because the GB owner asks me to.

If you’re going to flag 1.9, you should be flagging everything involving a agreement of some kind. Not just limiting it to one specific type of arrangement. Players using 1.9 have no greater right than any other agreement. It just happens to be widely adopted because it’s the easiest for a new player to obtain, and the least likely to get sniped.

If someone is sniping, it’s not unintentional when it comes to neighbours. They know they’re uninvited

The visiting player will then know that if they wish to contribute to that GB, that they should do so based on the appropriate 1.9 rate of contribution.
Why should outsiders that are not a part of the 1.9 group make 1.9 contributions if they can secure a spot for less?

There is a potential for a player to purposely sabotage GB's
Players don't contribute to GB's to sabotage them but to gain a profit - or to help friends and guild mates.

random contributions by other players can also have a similar impact
How can a contribution be random? All contributions have some kind of intended purpose even if it's just 1 fp.

This idea is both far too complex, both for coders and in terms of rules imposed on players for creating and maintaining threads, and it doesn't really add anything of substance to the game except possibly a flag for snipers to focus on...thus primarily achieving the exact opposite of what you intend.

Also, as others say, if you're going to do this for 1.9, then shouldn't it also be for swaps?
And for my private arrangement with real life friends who I only communicate with through private messages outside of the game?
