GBG matchups

Sadly due to inno matching guilds up in GBG by guild ID, the number given in order of guild creation, this means groupings aren’t random. Any new guild wishing to take on established ones will never get the chance due to the volume of guilds in diamond league and these being grouped first by LP and then according to date of guild creation. Guilds then find themselves jumping between the same matchups within their creation time zone, rather than matches being made from across the whole of the league.
We (ID 24,481) continually get matched with both Project Phoenix (ID: 21,017) and their sister guild Project Phoenix 2 (ID: 22.073) together. Project Phoenix easily dominate the map then let in who they choose. In a fair match up PP2 should have rounds without Project Phoenix to protect them.
But also it isn’t a competitive game for PP with a ID of 21,017 to always be the strongest- they are never matched with other guilds on 1000 LPs like Templars (ID:10,434), We raid naked (ID: 7,218), or rogue nation (ID:7,730) simply because those guilds ids numbers are lower.
Rather than ranking guilds by LP and then in order of guild age ( ie their guild ID ) can they not be ranked by LP and then a random selection? This would mean variety in the matchups and make for a more interesting game, which many are fed up with at the moment.

LOL! L0rien
My K guild, radical pirates have been in same league with a bully guild A41 for 6 seasons in a row and it didnt change....never changed a single time lol

inno really MUST change the way they group gbg, or players will give up this game...sigh....:(

This is so unfair, the big guilds farm FP and the small ones are always stuck with the same big guild, it never changes.

Sooo many fed up people - and its not just sour grapes from people in the lower ranks, guilds at the top can see its unfair too as they never get to have a go at all the other guilds who have an equal 1000 LP score as them - and they know if they did they could easily beat them - so match them up...

So if you are in Brisgard and fed up of facing the same opponents in high level GBG every time - come join us in Anaithnide!
As guilds are matched up by age of being formed (Guild ID) then as a younger guild we can offer you a different set of opponents, but placed in Diamond league for top level rewards.
- lets give the system a jolt and shake it up a bit

Don't advertise your guild, this is not about advertising but change. If you are in Brisgard join Order Of The Black, great guild and this is not advertisement.
But a great way to buck the system would be for you to have a holiday with us - take a break from the rubbish match you have - help us mess ours up - enjoy GBG for a round stirring things up, then back to home guild refreshed - and as you did less there in gbg for a round then you will drop to an easier match up for your return ;)

But I love my guild and I've only came here for a bit of time and GBG is not done

So here is how to do it - taken from information by Ariana Erosaire in EN3and correction from Manuel Laboria - Ty both :)

1. Sort by LP
2. Sort by guild ID (ID is assigned to the guild during the creation of the guild and does not change. Increased by 1 from the previous created guild.)
3. Calculation of the number of board with 7 guild:
Take the number of all guilds in the same league (e.g., Diamond), divided by 8: and
- If the remainder is 1, then there will be 7 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 2, then there will be 6 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 3, then there will be 5 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 4, then there will be 4 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 5, then there will be 3 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 6, then there will be 2 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 7, then there will be 1 groups with 7 guilds
. Then, in order of the sorted list, groups with 8 guilds are created, then create with 7 guilds

So in Brisgard this round there are 59 guilds in Diamond League, so that gives 5 sets of 7 guilds and 3 sets of 8 guilds - do the 8 guilds first starting in order from the newest guild (the highest Guild ID)
Rank the guilds by LP and then Guild ID and you have the following ..and I've added the groups they are in and it just so happens to follow the same order

So here is how to do it - taken from information by Ariana Erosaire in EN3
1. Sort by LP
2. Sort by guild ID (ID is assigned to the guild during the creation of the guild and does not change. Increased by 1 from the previous created guild.)
3. Calculation of the number of board with 7 guild:
number of guilds with the same LP is divided by 8, and
- If the remainder is 1, then there will be 7 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 2, then there will be 6 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 3, then there will be 5 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 4, then there will be 4 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 5, then there will be 3 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 6, then there will be 2 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 7, then there will be 1 groups with 7 guilds
. Then, in order of the sorted list, groups with 8 guilds are created, then create with 7 guilds

Small correction:
Step 3 is not done per LP group, but for all guilds in the same league.

3. Calculation of the number of boards with 7 guilds:
Take the number of all guilds in the same league (e.g., Diamond), divided by 8:
- If the remainder is 1, then there will be 7 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 2, then there will be 6 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 3, then there will be 5 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 4, then there will be 4 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 5, then there will be 3 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 6, then there will be 2 groups with 7 guilds
- If the remainder is 7, then there will be 1 groups with 7 guilds

Happens to come out to the same result for Brisgard, with 59 diamond league guilds (910LP-1000). 59/8 = 7+3. So the remainder is 3, then there will be 5 boards with 7 guilds.

you are right...59 guilds in diamond - 5x7 = 35, plus 3 of 8 which is what i did but forgot to change instruction - edited it now , thanks :)
